Twilight’s out!

November 29, 2008 at 4:00 PM (Film)

Finally my wait from February is over!  Seen it the second time yesterday. I love it I love it I love it! Although I was not happy during first round with certain aspects of the film like background music / filming style etc., by the second round I started to get used to it, picked up more detail from the scenes and ended up liking it more, especially the background music. When’s the DVD coming out? I’m not sure how much I can continue to spend on watching this film at the cinema, even though it’s only RM8. (I heard it’s AUD12 for students in Adelaide, what?!)

RM8 x 2 (sis and I) = RM16

RM16 x 10 times = RM160!!

See?? Maybe I should try 5 times.

RM16 x 5 = RM80

That’s still a lot. DVD hurry up! Anyway some of my favourite scenes:

The Sartorialist

November 9, 2008 at 4:40 PM (Fashion, Photography)

Perhaps Karen Cheng readers already know about this blog, since she had recently mentioned it. Still I’d like to point out this blog because I really like how it posts photos taken of random fashionable people walking about in cities like Paris. Some of the photos I really liked and downloaded…

A Walk in the Park, Paris

From the post entitled “A Walk in the Park, Paris”, featuring an interesting and good looking Asian woman just minding her own business in Paris :D She looks stunning! Oh I need to go to Paris!! You see la so fun people can dress up like that there. Here, that would just be wayyy overdressed and downright inappropriate!

Big Thanks to Petite Mirochka!

Quite cute. The style reminds me slightly of Blair Waldorf.

Oh yea, one of the reasons why I like this blog is not only is it so spontaneous (with all those photos of random regular people walking down the streets looking like models) but even more so the photos are very well taken, at least to my amateur photographer eyes. Well taken to me means the photo is focused on the subject with the background blurred, by the way =D  So check it out!

Little trips around Greece

November 6, 2008 at 11:26 AM (Photography, Travel)

During the 2 week stay in Greece we traveled to a few locations in order to visit the places the apostle Paul stayed during his ministry.

Locations: Thessaloniki, Philippi, Beroea, Meteora, and Corinth.

The records of apostle Paul’s ministry are in Acts, especially around chapters 16 – 17.

Thessaloniki

Ancient City of Philippi

The ancient city of Philippi was captured and fortified by Philip II, king of Macedonia in 356BC, when the Krenides were threatened by the Thracians and sought his aid. He named the city after himself.

This is a cool theater that amplified the speaker’s voice just by standing on the square box. It was loud enough for everyone to hear, and I mean just by speaking normally.

Beroea

Institute for fathers

This is the hallway of the an institution for Greek Orthodox fathers in Beroea. Apostle Paul lived here for about three months.

Meteora

Meteora is a group of hills on which many monasteries are built. Fleeing saints long long ago hid on top of these hills from persecution.

Corinth

Corinth Canel

At Corinth Canel, which was caved for ships to pass through, avoiding the hassel of going the extremely long route to the other shore. Julius Caesar courted this idea again in 44BC while the first consideration ever made for this was in 602BC.

Ancient City of Corinth

Ancient city of Corinth where apostle Paul spent his time preaching. Sorry for squinting sour face, it was too sunny and I didn’t have sunglasses!

Ancient City of Corinth

Behind me was the market place where apostle Paul preached. Before me (not in the photo) was where he was tried but no guilt was found on him. Sometimes I still feel the experience of being there is very surreal. Just imagine how even more surreal the experience of visiting Jerusalem would be!

Pork and chips

My first Greek meal… and I fell in love! The Greeks have the most spoilt tastebuds!

The reason why I took this shot was because it reminded me of WoW, and I can just see a bunch of Kobolds running around mining for stuff.

Not a highly recommended thing to do while driving :p

So that’s it for the little trips in Greece. More posts on Santorini Island and Vienna soon!

Feet Therapy

November 6, 2008 at 8:32 AM (Family)

Since Vienna my toe has been feeling numb! Apparently it’s caused by too much walking on top of having a flat foot and a bunion, so ever since then I have been attending physiotherapy. It’d only helped to a certain extent, and my physiotherapist thought I ought to give acupuncture a go. Actually I am very afraid of needles but I guess I am desperate for my toe to get better.

Surprisingly it didn’t hurt much, other than the slight prick and the sting from applying antiseptic after taking it out. After effect, I think my toe was more sensitive and tingly. Though, today it feels better than before, almost no weird sensations in the toe.

~~~
Yesterday, because my sister wanted to take some knitting lessons at Queensbay, dad and I went to the nearby spa centre. We got ourselves the half hour fish spa =D For feet only. It involves a lot a lot of laughing!
The fishes gathered at our feet in huge groups at first, but gradually they thinned out. So I’m guessing that our feet were cleaner. The bigger fish were really fierce, frightening both me and the other smaller fish. LOL! Overall it was a very fun and interesting experience, 30 minutes of analysing fish behavior while laughing. It’s RM19 for students and RM28 for adults, so I’d say it’s pretty worth it, especially for first timers.
November’s here!
November 1, 2008 at 4:02 PM (Uncategorized)
Two months since my graduation have passed. It’s now November and I’m a month nearer to moving to Australia. I think of it a lot lately and sometimes I get myself anxious and homesick because of it. But that makes me appreciate what I have now and I want to try to spend the rest of my holidays more wisely.
Anyway, I realized my photos are still quite large in file size and they take a while to load. I will try to resize them when I can so they can load faster. :) Thank you for your patience! I appreciate it!
Update: I am still writing and arranging the blog post for the rest of my trip. Sorry for taking forever! The photos are also huge in size but too late I’ve already uploaded them. So stay tuned!
